ANCEL GREEN STEDMAN (Steadman) (13 Jan 1837 – 1914) was born in Chester County, South Carolina the son of Samuel Steadman and Martha Ann Thompson.
Ancel married Margaret J Waters 25 Nov 1857 in Louisville, South Carolina. He and Margaret had 3 children of record:

Ancel Green Stedman was born January 13, 1837 in Chester County, South Carolina, the son of Samuel Stedman. He married Margaret Waters at Louisville, South Carolina, November 25, 1857. He joined the (Confederate) Army July 1862 and served in Company “C” 19th Arkansas Regiment and was disbanded at Marshall, Texas, May 1865. Rank: Private.

(Consolidated with 19th Arkansas Infantry) Churchill’s Brigade, Cleburne’s Division, Hill’s Corps, Army of Tennessee.
In the final days of the War, the regiment was consolidated with the 1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 13th, 15th, and 19th Arkansas Infantry and the 3rd Confederate States Infantry to form the 1st (Howell’s) Arkansas Consolidated Infantry.
He was a Democrat, a Presbyterian and died 1914. Burial: Hickory Springs Cemetery, Bradley County, Arkansas.
