GREEN R. MARK ZEALOUS (GREENHALL) REID (25 Jan 1873 – 15 Oct 1925) was born in Rome, Floyd County, Georgia the son of Marcus D Lafayette Reid and Nancy Elizabeth Duke. Mark was named after his maternal grandfather, Green R Duke, and his father Marcus.

Mark (or Bud as he was known among family and associates) lived with his family in Armuchee, Floyd County, Georgia after his birth until November 1885 when the family moved to Davis County, Utah.
Mark married widowed Mary Elizabeth Owen on 17 Mar 1900 in Riverdale, Weber County, Utah. Mary had one daughter, Lenora A Owen, from her previous marriage. There are no other children of record.
Mark and Mary lived in Roy, Weber County, Utah, and later in Ogden, Weber County, Utah where Mark hired out his services as a mule team operator. It is also reported by family sources that Mark and Mary ran a boarding house in Ogden, Utah until about 1918 or 1919 when Mark registered for military service and soon after moved to Alhambra, California. He and Mary are noted as living in Alhambra, Los Angeles County, California in the 1920 US Census where they continued to lived up to the time of Mark’s death.

According to a letter written by his step-daughter, Lenora, Mark traveled to Clinton, Utah in late January of 1925 to spend time with and lend care to his ageing mother. His mother, Nancy, died on 25 Sept 1925, and Mark followed her in death one month later on 15 Oct of 1925 at age 52. Mark is buried in the San Gabriel Cemetery, San Gabriel County, California.
