Lucy Ballow Lavender applies for war pension in Jackson County, Georgia; age 79. Charles Lavender died 5 may 1802 in Edgefield District South Carolina. Lucy Ballow Lavender died 14 Jun 1846 in Jackson County, Georgia. Lucy Ballow Lavender had a brother named John Ballow.
According to the marital bond of Charles Lavender and Lucinda “Lucy” Ballow, issued by Amherst County, Virginia on December 21, 1785, Lucy was the daughter of Thomas Ballow (husband of Elizabeth Mary Edmunds Lavender). Lucy’s older brother, John, was killed early in the Revolutionary War when his gun accidentally discharged; her younger brother, Joseph, married Mildred “Milley” Lavender, youngest sister of Charles Lavender; they resided in Burke County, North Carolina with their home becoming part of McDowell County when the county was formed.
