Does anyone have info on Zachariah Reaid/Read who lived in Greene Co Ga. 1788? Thanks- John Freeman
I have Reid ancestors who lived in Greene and Putnam Counties in GA. in the late 1700s and early 1800s. In researching George and son Robert, I noticed a Zachariah Reid who married Polly Lawrence January 14, 1790. This was on pg. 597 of a book, “History of Greene County, Georgia”, edited by Carolyn Williams and published in 1961 by the J. W. Burke Co. of Macon. I located the book in the Genealogy Dept. of my public library here in Louisiana.
That is possibly your Zachariah. Good luck.

John –
An update to my earlier reply:
After seeing Zachariah REID m. Polly Lawrence in “History of Greene Co., GA”, I later noticed (on the same page) a Zachariah REED who married Ginney Adams on March 3 1789.

What happened to Daniel Reed ? He was not mentioned after 1773
