I am looking for info about the peerage that was offered to John Reid. A title from Fraser or Reid families of Inverness, Scotland, was offered to John Reid. He declined and was paid off a large amount of money. The money was long gone by the time Theodore Reid, Jr. reached Mississippi. My email is Lktees@att.net. Thanks.
